Flashmob your Drumming for Peace in Sudan
After experiencing decades of war, Sudan faces a referendum on its future. There is a risk that violence could return unless the international community does all it can to support peace.
Ctrl.Alt.Shift is supporting the Sudan365 campaign to get urgent, co-ordinated action by the international community to make sure the peace process works.
In January 2010, a global drumbeat was started by musicians including Phil Selway of Radiohead, Jonny Quinn of Snow Patrol, Stewart Copeland of The Police, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, the renowned Egyptian drummer Yehia Khalil, Egyptian music star Mohammed Munir, Mustapha Tettey Addy from Ghana and Maxi Jazz from Faithless.
This beat is echoing around the world as people across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas add their own drumming and Ctrl.Alt.Shift wants to make sure you take your chance to get your sticks out and put your rhythm out there.

ACTION!
Use the Sudanese beat to start your own drumming flashmob.
Flashmobs can happen anywhere - festivals, town centres, campuses, parks... pretty much any location you can think of. Just tell everyone to bring something to bang on, and make sure you film it.
Then upload your video to youtube as part of the Sudan365 group and tag it – instructions here – and then add it to the Ctrl.Alt.Shift site. The best films will feature in a remix of the original Beat for Peace video, which will be delivered to global leaders at the UN General Assembly this September as a video petition for peace.
