Scottish Government Unveils World’s First Carbon Budget: Scotland has unveiled the world’s first “carbon budget” which will link emission with government spending. The new budget reveals that the Scottish government’s £30 billion spending on schools, hospitals and farming next year will lead to the release of 11.5 million tonnes of CO2.

Here at Ctrl.Alt.Shift, we believe that we shouldn't take it for granted that people will always have to live in poverty. Our whole ethos is that we have the power to take control of our world and change it for the better, but one excuse for inequality that we hear a lot is people telling us: 'You can't help developing countries because they're too corrupt'. A lot of people seem to have got it into their heads that there is something inherently corrupt about the leaders of poor countries, admittedly not helped by some notable examples of abuse, but what they often don't realise is that this corruption cannot simply be dismissed as a 'third world' problem.
