I took this photograph while on a boat ride in Lake Naivasha.  Although it seems like an appropriate image to show the beauty of a popular destination many tourists visit while in Kenya, what I learnt is that flower exports have become Kenya's second major foreign exchange earner after tourism and the pollution caused by large-scale flower farming is slowly but surely destroying the only fresh water ecosystem in the eastern Rift Valley.
