The documentary features Michael Ruppert, a former LAPD officer who becomes a reporter and radical thinker. The film predicts that energy sources and economic problems could lead to worldwide crisis.

The film is shot in a small room as Ruppert is questioned by the director Chris Smith, these scenes are broken up with archive footage.
