The Bottom Line - Hung Parliament?

I'm sure I am not the only person in this country that has been confused by the politics malarkey that has been dominating our newspapers, TV and conversations. I try hard to follow and digest little titbits of information that strengthen any potential (more than likely) conversations about politics.

However, despite all my confidence when spewing my parroted jargon, I couldn't help but feel slightly insecure when it came to the issue of a 'hung parliament'. As a wordsmith, the images conjured with this phrase were reminiscent of the hanging scene in 'The Virgin Suicides'; with those pressured to take their own lives. Surely this cannot be what will happen if The Sun's (money-led) predictions of a Tory government fail to come true – but aside from all of their hideously crafted propaganda - what is it, this, hung parliament?

Can three parties with conflicting ideology come together and govern the same noose?

Or will one tie, one tighten and one hang?

This country is so full of different people, that views, practices and values have had to coexist together to prevent complete anarchy. Now if we (the majority) can do it in the masses then surely three men can swallow a third of their worthless pride and come to a conclusion that reflect the interests of the people they vow to serve. Not themselves (or relevant parties).

Each of the parties has strengths and weaknesses. That goes without saying. However, whether they will use the others to fill in their weaknesses is another thing all together. It's the difference between a painter who cares about the intricacies of the job, and the painter who cares solely about the image of the final product; both need to be taken into consideration - but for the sake of our appeasement, a lick of paint is not sufficient to cover cracks that have deepened in the walls of truthfulness and trust our politics system, and representative parties in this country, are housed in.

I can only hang myself in these words and hope for a table of stability to be brought under my feet!
