donkeys
I went to Kenya, Meru for 10 weeks.
and one thing disturbed me most..
The donkeys were whipped so hard, that they bled through old scars.
the deep, slashing sounds of the whip almost drowned out the desperate gasping for air.
extreme, heavy loads resting on their weak necks, as they march further uphill in the blistering heat.
no water, no breaks.
when they are aloud to stop, they do not run away, or fight back.
instead they stand emotionless, traumatized and stare into nothing less.
these intelligent, harmless animals are used for work. work that needs to be done for the Kenyan people.
however they do not need to be so mistreated to work.
we need to educate the people on how to treat their animals with respect.
the donkeys provide them with a free service.
they deserve the respect.
