"Think of a team-up between Björk and Burial, a cuter, more girly Beth Gibbons, or Joanna Newsom signed to Hyperdub." The Guardian
"Scrambling Portishead and Burial in glistening glitch-pop, bustling beats and weightless vocals, this London trio retro-fit trip-hop with the jittery dislocations of dubstep." The Independent
In The Loop (live)
www.facebook.com/intheloopmcr [5] // www.groovement.co.uk [6]
In The Loop is a hip hop collective based in Manchester, bringing together DJs, MCs, musicians, producers and promoters from across the city, providing a platform for the real hip hop thats going on in the city.
The Breadwinners (live - Bakery Studios)
www.mindonfire.co.uk/artist-page-bakery-studio.html [7]
Bakery Studios is essentially Alan Redfearn at the desk joined by his various modules, delay units and vintage phasers and the sound is dub in the best traditions. However that classic, horn filled, dubwise sound would be impossible to create without the help of a talented pool of musicians who all flow through the studios doors.
Neighbourhood DJs
www.groups.to/neighbourhood [8]
Neighbourhood brings together representatives from some of Manchester’s most successful underground club nights, a mash up of all things Hip Hop, Funk, Roots & Dub... Longshot, Dub Smugglers, The Pinch, At Large, Family Gathering and Mind on Fire.
