In a fusion of spoken word poetry, theatrics, music, comedy and debates - young people will be exploding their talent and opinions onto the stage on April 18 in east London; all as part of Silence Is Not Golden. The show you don't want to miss will kick off at 5:30pm at The Broadway Theatre (Broadway, Barking, IG11 7LS).

Inspired by the forthcoming elections and the big issues of today, the array of performances will take centre stage on a night to remember, directed by Dean Atta (check out his mad poetry skills below) and featuring special guests repping from The Broadway Youth Board, Words In Motion and the Rhymes Won't Wait Collective.

This isn’t a one-way form of expression, as audience members (set to include Bonnie Greer, Lee Jasper and Richard Taylor, representatives from Unite Against Fascism and Love Music Hate Racism, Ctrl.Alt.Shift, plus much more to be confirmed) will be invited to be a part of the debates and discussions of the issues raised throughout the event.

Want to be a part of the whirlwind of opinions and expressions? Join The Youth Board enjoy the ride on Sunday April 18!

Note: "SILENCE IS NOT GOLDEN aims to get to the heart of the issues that matter to the young people in this area, those too young to make their voices heard at the ballot box on May 6th." Dean Atta

Guest performers on the night contributing their own perspectives will include singer/songwriters Aruba Red and Maverick Sabre, Limitless Dance (East London Dance Youth Company) and SLAM poets Aisling Fahey and Deanna Rodger.

After the show you are invited to stay for networking in the foyer, with Words In Motion open mic to be hosted by Shan Amaru and music from DJ Joe Grime.
