On Saturday, Ctrl.Alt.Shift ventured over to Wembley's Banqueting Suite to celebrate the 52nd Celebration of Ghanaian Independence. With Eddie Kadi, Richard Blackwood, and Mobo winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown on the guest list, it was always going to be a big party, that's even without mentioning the headliner himself Sway Dasafo.

What's the best way to show your anger about the misery and destruction that our culture of war and consumption has created? Sound off about it in the pub? Abstain from voting, as it only encourages politicians anyway? No? Well how about bringing about a zombie apocalypse in central London and then feasting on the still-warm brains of the very fools who brought about this mess?

When the feds stopped me and my mate before even reaching London's Guildhall, I was thinking damn! Things are really going to get crazy today...

Watching the advertisement for Fair and Lovely skin cream makes for uncomfortable viewing. The successful fair skinned lady at one points states, in relation to obtaining her dream job, that, "one of the biggest obstacles of obtaining my dream was my skin" more than suggesting, I’d say, that being ‘fair and lovely’ actually means being ‘fair, (powerful and successful) and lovely’. 

What does the whine of the apathetic student sound like? "Do we really care? A talk on what? Yeah, Gaza. The Croatian midfielder. What? Oh, the place - yeah, yeah terrible, I think it was on the news. Can't they just share? What about dinner? Ban Ki-who? Isn't that a Pokemon? Whatever...pub?"

Ctrl.Alt.Shift rustled some feathers this week, invading the premises of Tesco outlets around the country with a synchronised Fairtrade banana flashmob - the mission was to expose how the shameless economic giants refuse to sell solely fair trade bananas...

Today we were joined by a nationwide army of Ctrl.Alt.Shift volunteers, tooled up with Fairtrade bananas, with our sights set on Tesco stores around the country in a flashmob protest against the fact that the retail giants disgracefully still sell non-fair trade bananas.
