Woman in Alley

Bangladesh is one of the most poor and densely populated countries of the world. The average rate of literacy is about half the population, and for women it's much less. But a lot of work is being done to help empower women, beginning with Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammed Yunnus's Grameen Bank ve

power figure

I took this photograph looking up at the figure giving it a sense of power,as I believe it shows that in history a well dressed male victorious looking male was seen as powerful. Also i think the deserted chair on the momument shows that power in a certain gender/ look has changed.

Jamie

This portrait of Jamie was taken in the hospital a day after giving birth to her first child.

Corinne

Corinne's expression dares the viewer to make any assumptions about her. She looks confident and free to me. The caged window to her right could symbolise ideas about enclosure & space. This photo was taken as part of a street fashion feature.

Man Under The Influence

This is a project where I take pictures of men wearing his girlsfriends clothes. Whit this photos I want to show how the gender power has changed in the relationships of nowadays. How the woman has reached a stronger position in the straight couples, and how this change has influenced and disconcert

Man in my jacet, Dover.

Vulnerability

Women in Phnom Penh struggle to make ends meet. This is an excellent example of the kind of creativity used. These birds can be freed as a religious offer for $0.50. the birds will promptly return to their owner to be released again. This is a series exploring gender, poverty and how these make wom

Vulnerability

This picture seeks to reflect the invisibility of most women in developing societies. As long as women don't have a voice there is no hope to affect the balance of power. This is a series exploring gender, poverty and how these make women vulnerable. These pictures are taken in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Vulnerability

Due to poverty, many live on boats on the Phnom Penh riverside. 3 out of evry 5 of these "boat children" will drown. This is a series exploring gender, poverty and how these make women vulnerable. These pictures are taken in Phnom Penh, Cambodia where I live.

Vulnerability

Cambodia has the highest under 5 (yrs old) mortality rate in south east asia. most due to treateable diseases like diorreah. Lack of clean water for cooking is at the heart of a lot of disease. Insufficient food at the root of tunted growth and weak immune systems. This is a series exploring gender,

Vulnerability

I took this picture while walking by the riverside with my daughter. I thought the make up in such a young girl was funny. It was only when I got home and saw the way the person I had assumed was the mother held her that the sad reality behind this picture struck me. Sexual tourism with girls as y

Vulnerability

This is a woman collecting garbage for recycling. She is covering her mouth to avoid the health hazards of her profession, and covering her head for vanity; here fair skin is beautiful, dark is not. I blew this photo large for an exhibition. My house cleaner laughed when she saw it. I think she

Lolita

'a heady night of disco mayhem, 19 yr old Bip Ling is totally unaware of her remarkable beauty and the devasting affect she has on those around her.'

The women who take part in body building competitions are not judged in the same manner as their male colleagues.
