Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption, will launch this November as part of the annual COMICA Festival with an exhibition of political comic work to coincide with the release of our new comic book anthology. The Exhibition will take a retrospective look at how comics have been employed throughout history to debate and highlight political issues and will include content from previously unseen archives as well as highlights from the Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption Comic.  The exhibition will be held at Lazarides Gallery, 8 Greek Street, Soho, London, W1D 4DG and runs from 6th - 28th November (Tuesday – Friday 11am -7pm and Saturday 12pm – 5pm).

A selection of the world’s most compelling graphic novelists and comic artists have collaborated with Ctrl.Alt.Shift, to create a limited edition comic book Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption  which features original work from leading comic artists, satirists and creative figures from around the world including USA, South Africa, India, Sweden, Serbia and the UK. Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption will engage and challenge the issues of social injustice in a bid to politicise a new generation of activists through the medium of popular comic culture. Artists involved include Dave McKean, Peter Kuper, Lee O'Connor, Pat Mills, V V Brown, Dan Goldman, Aleksandar Zograf, Bryan Talbot, Asia Alfasi, Dylan Horrocksand Marcus Bleasdale. The Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption Comic Book will be available while stocks last for £4.99 from this site, information on how to purchase the comic to follow.

The following Ctrl.Alt.Shift events are taking place at the ICA as part of the COMICA Festival.

Comic Art Propaganda: Ctrl.Alt.Shift Panel 
  • Fredrik Strömberg, author of Comic Art Propaganda (Ilex), hosts a discussion about the history, uses and efficacy of putting political messages into cartoon and comic strip form with Pat Mills, Asia Alfasi, and other contributors to Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption and cartoonist Polyp. Followed by signings.

Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmask Corruption: Music and Comics Night
  • Ctrl.Alt.Shift and Comica present an evening of live music and DJs to celebrate the release of their Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption comic, featuring over 30 contributions from the world's best comic artists and graphic novelists, including Bryan Talbot, Dave McKean and Pat Mills, who have each explored the subject of corruption. Featuring a live performance from Dev Hynes (aka Lightspeed Champion / Test Icicles) who will perform songs from his newest project, Blood Orange. Plus a DJ set from comic artist Woodrow Phoenix and more to be announced.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITY
Wednesday 18th Nov, 7pm. An evening of political poster making.
  • Inspired by the Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption comic and its central issue of corruption we will look at existing slogan based political posters such as those created in May ' 68 and create our own in reaction to a current example of corruption.
