Teenagers 'running around' with condoms leads to light at the end of the tunnel: A survey by South Africa's Human Sciences Research Council has stated that South Africa is improving it's fight against Aids - thanks to teenagers' willingness to use condoms. Creating "light at the end of the tunnel," as the survey puts it, new infections amongst 18 year olds has halved over the last three years, with condom use increasing by 30%.

Largely touted as the music of the motherland, the heart of Africa and the force that stood firm against political oppression; Afrobeat as a genre remains to this day, a musical outsider.

Last week, the Hayward Gallery’s concrete walls housed some of the greatest poetic talent to come out of the UK in the form of spoken word poet and songstress Zena Edwards. Following in the footsteps of spoken word heroes like Linton Kwesi Johnson and Jean Binta Breeze, Zena Edwards did the genre proud as she spoke and sung to a crowd of admiring followers (including me) who lapped up each beat, verse and rhyme by the princess of poetry.

Hannah Richards Reports From BoliviaI walk fast. This is what I have learned today. I do everything fast. I realised this when I stepped out of the aeroplane in La Paz to find my oxygen supply had been cut.Even brushing my teeth at normal speed is too much. As soon as I start doing anything too fast, my head starts pounding. I’m suddenly aware of how much I need air.

The Clown Prince are the eclectic eccentrics from London with big beats, thrashy guitars and a style that's dubbed Afrapunk. With the animated and charming CHiF as the front-man and the smooth shadow that is Neel the Wiz on production duties, the long time musical partners have managed to define their very own fresh sound.

Recently I went to a village called El Khnaim. I was with the disabilities department in my association. The town was an hour's drive from the association and I spent most of it looking to the side of the road, at Sandy Mountain, behind which lies a desert. On the other side are rolling fields and small villages and farms. The villages where made of small houses, a mixture of sandy tones beige, terracotta, white and grey bricks in very simple designs - most of the time remaining unfinished – with another floor waiting to be added, or a room to be capped with a ceiling, not being able to distinguish where each adjoining building joins with the next. There were a few well painted apartments emerging in between with elaborate and beautiful Islamic decorations and bright, exuberant colors. Occasionally we drove through areas with small cluster of finished apartment blocks, or finished villas.

Oh here we go again. Are we about to see another media frenzy of having 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' (WMD) plastered all over our front pages? It seems likely, except this is a far cry from Bush's subliminal messaging – the latest rumbles in the world are coming from North Korea's recent underground nuclear missile testing.
